There has been some confusion surrounding the Trey Anastasio Band’s recent debut of a song titled “The Land of Nod.” When first laying eyes upon the setlist, many fans assumed that TAB had covered The New Mastersounds song by the same name. However, as Trey noted the following night, the shared title is a mere coincidence. Here are Trey’s words on the new song from Saturday night in Baltimore- taken from the video which can be seen here

“Last night we debuted a brand new song in South Carolina and then when I woke up this morning I got a text from Jennifer [Hartswick] and some friends of hers had been texting her to tell her that there’s a band called The New Mastersounds. You guys know them? Excellent band. And so, we inadvertently named the new song the same name as one of their songs. It’s called “The Land of Nod.” So let me just a message of love to The New Mastersounds…by the way we would never inadvertently name a song, or even remotely like, another artist…Anyway the song is called “The Land of Nod” and now there are two songs called ‘The Land of Nod.’”
