Last night at Brooklyn Bowl, Rock and Wrap It Up hosted a charity event. Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling served as emcee, with Jackie Greene appearing as the headliner. This is the 20th anniversary of Rock and Wrap It Up which “boxes up all prepared but untouched meals following rock concerts, sporting events and schools then delivers them to local food banks and charitable agencies.” It was a night of full circles, as one of the first groups to sign on with the organization was Aerosmith and last night’s concert also featured a performance by TAB the Band, the project founded by Adrian and Tony Perry, sons of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. The evening also paid tribute to the National Hockey League, as during the 2010-2011 season, the 30 NHL teams donated over 105 tons of food and 160,000 meals to feed the hungry across North America.
