Dark Star Orchestra Celebrates 2000

Fire on the Mountain - All Good Festival 2010 from Dark Star Orchestra on Vimeo.

Dark Star Orchestra will return to the road on November 17 on its Fly through the Night Tour. The opener is in Boston at the Wilbur Theatre but a milestone will take place two evenings later at the State Theatre in Ithaca where the group will perform its 2000th show. In commemoration the group is holding a drawing to give away an iPod loaded with over 2000 songs. Fans can register online and the winner will be announced on the 19th in Ithaca.

Any rumors on what DSO is planning for the 2k show? Also, is the iPod set up to handle DSO2K or will it crash?

being overweight, out of shape, bearded, having an envelope filter effect for the guitar and singing slightly off key does not make you Jerry. I seriously hope this isn’t your best work (and/or that your audience was too hight to notice). The solos were largely unimaginative, weak (except for the few bits that were DIRECTLY copied from Garcia) and the vocals were worse…. This is no tribute—it’s just a sincere effort.

mark Helm. Who the F2ck called him Jerry? I’ve seen GD over 100 times and obviously this is not GD, but I have seen DSO a dozen times and always a fun show. By the way: Who the F@ck do you think you are?
