Real Estate at Lincoln Hall this past spring

Real Estate hosted their first Halloween show last night at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall. The indie buzz band took a cue from their jamband roots and covered a variety of artists during the show. Partway through their set, the quintet inserted a five-song mini-set featuring Chris Spedding’s “Video Life,” The Clean’s “Anything Can Happen,” Blur’s “Coffee and TV,” Felt’s “Sunlight Bathed the Golden Glow” and Weezer’s “Holiday.” The latter song is a throwback to band’s high school Weezer cover project, one of the first times the future members of the band played together in a formal context (another high school band mate, Julian Lynch, opened the night). Real Estate will perform in Minneapolis, MN this evening.
