Last night at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado Greensky Bluegrass celebrated Halloween with its ‘Totally Bitchin 80s’ theme. The group decked out in a variety of costumes, each of which reflected the decade, while the group’s music also focused on many signature tunes from the era. Opening with a pair of Michael Jackson songs, “Thriller,” which segued into “Beat It,” the band then delivered bluegrass takes on such selections as Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like The Wolf,” Prince’s “When Doves Cry” and “Little Red Corvette,” Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” Along the way the group also snuck in a few of its own originals, such as “Break Mountain Brokedown” “New Rize Hill” and “Tarpology” (which also included Pink Floyd’s “One Slip” from 1987’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason ).

The group performs next on Wednesday in Santa Fe, NM.
