Ween celebrated Halloween last night at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom with a lengthy set that featured the experimental quintet dressed up as sailors. Set highlights during the two-plus hour show included “Polka Dot Tail” off of 1997’s The Mollusk and a cover of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” that segued into “Voodoo Lady,” the latter of which featured a guitar duel between the band’s principals. Ween also offered a particularly slow psychedelic “Squelch The Weasel,” and a version of “Demon Sweat” that found Gene Ween on keyboards and Claude Coleman providing the claps on an E-drum.

Ween will kick off a three-show New Year’s Eve run at Denver, CO’s Fillmore Auditorium on December 29 while Gene Ween and Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz will play two Northeast dates in early December.
