Founding War harpist Lee Oskar currently hosts a monthly residency at Seattle’s Highway 99 Blues Club. Though Oskar usually plays the noted club the last Friday of each month, the harpist switched his gig to Saturday to double as the club’s Halloween celebration. Blues Traveler harpist and area resident John Popper stopped by the gig and watched the first portion of the show from the audience. During a version of War’s anthem “Low Rider,” Popper took the stage to play harmonica next to Oskar and remained onstage for a good portion of the show. According to the Seattle Music Examiner, it was the first time the two musicians have shared the stage.
