Following a similar model as the Jammys, Amir Bar-Lev’s new documentary RE:GENERATION will feature a handful of unexpected studio collaborations. The film, which is being overseen by The Grammys, will pair internationally known producers with a truly eclectic mix of acts: Crystal Method works with Martha Reeves, Pretty Lights has a failed attempt in the studio with LeAnn Rimes and Ralph Stanley and both Nas and DJ Premier join the Berklee College of Music Orchestra. Mark Ronson also produces a track featuring the likes of Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, Mos Def, The Dap Kings and Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste. Perhaps most intriguing, dub-step producer Skrillex reunites Doors members Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore for their first studio collaboration in years. RE:GENERATION is slated for release this February.
