In his recent Jambands.com interview, Mike Gordon jokes that he has moved on from covering female vocalists to covering male singers as well. Last night at Portsmouth, NH’s The Music Hall, Gordon and his solo band did just that when they debuted a cover of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Gordon has tackled Roger Daltrey’s vocals before, most notably when Phish covered The Who’s Quadrophenia in its entirety.

Last night’s show also included covers of Alanis Morissette’s “Hand in My Pocket,” Little Feat’s “Skin It Back,” Max Creek’s “Willow Tree,” Gillian Welch’s “Time (the Revelator)” and Tower of Power’s “Down to the Night Club.” For more on Gordon and his current projects, please read Sam Davis’ new interview with the bassist.
