Ivan Neville with Warren Haynes last year

Warren Haynes Band swung through the Southeast last week. On November 8, the group performed at Mobile, AL’s Saenger Theatre with special guests the Lee Boys. At the end of the night, Lee Boys’ pedal steel ace Roosevelt Collier emerged to play on “Turn on Your Lovelight.”

The next night, Haynes and his band headlined sacred Allman Brothers Band ground at Macon, GA’s Cox Capitol Theatre. During the show, Haynes nodded to his longtime band by playing Duane Allman’s famed gold top guitar on “Invisible.” Vince Gill, Wilco’s Nels Cline and Derek Trucks also played the historic guitar earlier this year.

The Lee Boys rejoined Warren Haynes Band on Thursday night at Atlanta, GA’ Tabernacle. At the start of Haynes’ second set, keyboardist Ivan Neville—who plays on Haynes’ new Man in Motion album and was in town for a show later in the night with Dumpstaphunk—sat in on “Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday,” “Hattiesburg Hustle,” “Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley,” “Take a Bullet” and “I Wish.” Collier then returned at the end of the night to play on “Soulshine.” For more on Haynes, be sure to order the new issue of Relix magazine.
