A number of notable New Orleans musicians will come together for a pre-Thanksgiving party at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s this evening. Tryptophunk will bring together Meters bassist George Porter Jr., Papa Gros Funk keyboardist John Gros, Porter drummer Terrence Houston and funky Meters guitarist Brian Stoltz, as well as Bonerama horn section members Craig Klein and Mark Mullins. Gravy will open the night. Before the show, Porter will also perform at the MidCity Theatre as part of the Song Stories series.
