The Avett Brothers’ Bob Crawford has curated an album of holiday songs by modern artists. My Favorite Gifts features “soon-to-be-traditional holiday songs” by the Avett Brothers, Jessica Lea Mayfield, David Wax Museum, The Wood Brothers, David Mayfield and many others. All profits from the sale of this album will go to benefit the Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation.

As previously reported, Crawford’s baby daughter was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Crawford released the following statement on his daughter Hallie’s condition:

Dear Avett Brothers Family and Friends,

Our family has spent the past few weeks at St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital in Memphis, TN. I can tell you honestly that this is a place of great hope and compassion. At St. Jude, no child is turned away for lack of money. It is also one of the few children’s hospitals in the world with its own research facility. This allows researchers to take the discoveries made in the lab directly to the child in the hospital.

St. Jude has been credited with great advancements in the fight against Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and there is now an 80% cure rate. We have created a fund to honor our daughter’s fight. We ask that you join us and make a donation to St. Jude today as a tribute to her.

The Avett Brothers will perform at Chattanooga, TN’s Track 29 on December 30 and close the year with a big arena show at
Greenville, SC’s Bi-Lo Center on December 31.
