The nominees for the 54th annual Grammy Awards have been announced. While the likes of Adele, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are up for their share of awards, many of this year’s nominees will likely hit closer to home for Relix/Jambands.com readers. Most notably, three of the seven members of The Allman Brothers Band are up for Best Blues Album thanks to their solo projects: Gregg Allman ( Low Country Blues ), Warren Haynes ( Man in Motion ) and Tedeschi Trucks Band ( Revelator ). New friends Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter are also up for both Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song for their hit “You And Tequila” while Bela Fleck—who has been nominated in more categories than artist in Grammy history—is up for Best Instrumental Composition for the song “Life in Eleven,” a number he co-wrote with fellow Flecktone Howard Levy. We also tip our hats to video director Stephen C. Mitchell—a onetime Relix employee—who has been nominated for his work on Kings of Leon’s new documentary.

Indie/folk singer Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons are also nominated in four different categories: Bon Iver is contending for Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Alternative Music Album while Mumford are up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. Meanwhile, Radiohead received nominations in five vastly different categories (Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package, Best Short Form Music Video)
