Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Jake Cinninger will not perform this weekend with Ohmphrey due to a death in the family. Omphrey is a project that also features Cinninger’s UM bandmates Joel Cummins and Kris Myers along with Chris Poland and Robbie Pagliari. The Umphreys.com reports that group will now take the stage as a quartet to “perform a set of songs comprised of Ohmphrey originals, a few Ohm tunes as well as plenty of improvisation with a few guest sit-ins.” Headlining these gigs at the Viper Room in LA and Slim’s in San Francisco will be Digital Tape Machine, which features Umphrey’s McGee’s Joel Cummins and Myers as well as Joe Hettinga, Kevin Barry, David Arredondo, Marcus Rezak and Dan Rucinski. The two groups had shared the bill together for a number of October dates.
