The String Cheese Incident returned to New York City for shows at the United Palace Theatre on Friday and Saturday. The gigs were the band’s first New York dates since 2007 and first at the Washington Heights venue. The group performed several of their newer compositions on Friday night, including “BollyMunster,” “Song in My Head” and “Way That It Goes.” Some of these new selections may appear on the new studio album the group has mentioned in recent interviews. Then on Saturday, the group nodded to New York by kicking off their show with a cover of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).” Later in the night, the band also debuted an instrumental cover of Radiohead’s “National Anthem.” The String Cheese Incident’s tour will continue at Pittsburgh, PA’s Stage AE tomorrow night.
