An earlier take on “Sugar Shack”

Mike Gordon and his solo band performed at Pawtucket, RI’s The Met last night. As Phish has done with songs like “Tweezer” and “Guyute” in the past, the bassist used the numbers “Traveled Too Far” and “Sugar Shack” to tie the evening together, segueing back to the songs throughout his first set. His band also returned to the “Sugar Shack” theme several times during their second set. Gordon closed the night with “Clone,” the title track of his 2002 album with guitarist Leo Kottke. Though Gordon has performed the song with Kottke and Phish, last night was the first time his current solo band tackled the tune. Gordon will perform in Northampton, MA this evening. Last night’s setlist is available over in our Box Scores section.
