Longtime San Francisco resident Chuck Prophet will pay tribute to the Bay area on his new studio album Temple Beautiful. Scheduled for release on February 7, 2012 via Yep Roc Records, the album is named for the ill-fated club of the same name. “Temple Beautiful is a long closed punk rock club located in the old Reverend Jim Jones’ People’s Temple. Where I saw my first gigs,” Prophet explains. “This record was made in San Francisco, by San Franciscans about San Francisco.” San Francisco-area residents slated to appear on the album include The Flamin’ Groovies’ Roy Loney along with the core band of James DePrato (guitars), Rusty Miller (bass, vocals) and Prairie Prince (drums, percussion). Stephanie Finch (vocals), Chris Carmichael (cello, violin) and Jim Hoke (woodwinds, flute) also appear on select tracks.
