Bud Gaugh Leaves Sublime

Founding Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh will leave the group’s current incarnation Sublime with Rome in order to spend more time with his family. “The story is that I’m gonna be a dad here again real soon, and I just want to be there for my family,” the 44-year-old said prior to an acoustic show in Los Angeles. Sublime with Rome announced that Josh Freese will join Rome Ramirez and original Sublime bassist Eric Wilson following Gaugh’s departure.

Sublime with Rome recently released Yours Truly, the first album since Sublime called it quits following lead singer and guitarist Bradley Nowell’s death in 1996.

I am a long time sublime fan, but I gotta say with only one founding member remaining , to represent yourself as sublime or even sublime with Rome seems like an attempt to make money, not music.

its funny that sublime is on this site considering they hated the grateful dead. at least that is what they told me and my friends when we partied with them in 95 after a show in clevland. so i am guessing they werent crazy about jam bands in general if they hated the king band of jam bands
