Noveller, Tortoise’s Jeff Parker and Mike Gordon to Play Brian Eno’s "The Apollo Project" in New York
Noveller, Tortoise’s Jeff Parker, ambient ensemble Itsnotyouitsme, Phish’s Mike Gordon, Larry Campbell and many other artists will perform Brian Eno’s Eno’s tribute to the NASA moon landings, 1983’s Atmospheres and Soundtracks, in its entirety next month. The free “Apollo Project” performance will take place at New York’s World Financial Center Winter Garden on January 6 as part of the opening of the New York Guitar Festival. The performance will also feature scenes from Craig Teper’s documentary, Man In The Right Seat, about Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell.
Eno created the ambient masterpiece with his brother Roger Eno and Daniel Lanois. Wilco’s Nels Cline, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Mark Stewart, Liberty Elman, Dave Tronzo, Ben Monder and many others will also play shows throughout New York as part of the annual guitar showcase.
