Parksville, NY’s Arrowhead Dude Ranch has burnt to the ground, according to an article in a local newspaper. The article says that “The cause of the fire is under investigation. Teams of firefighters say they spent about three hours knocking it down. It’s believed the ranch house had been unoccupied for quite some time.”

Several notable acts played Arrowhead Dude Ranch in the ‘80s and early ‘90s when the site regularly hosted mini-jamband festivals. Those acts included: Widespread Panic, Phish, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, The Authority, TR3, Richie Havens and Radiators. Phish’s 1991 gigs at Arrowhead were some of the band’s more notable early ‘90s shows and featured the Giant Country Horns. Oddly enough, the Phish tribute act Strange Design is slated to cover one of the Arrowhead shows in its entirety at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl this Friday.
