The New Deal played their final hometown show on Saturday night at Toronto’s The Opera House. The performance was one of the trio’s final shows before officially breaking up this January. During the group’s second set, Martina Sorbara emerged to sing with the band on “Hello.” Sorbara and her husband—and New Deal bassist— Dan Kurtz perform together in Dragonette. Sorbara also sang on the group’s 2003 release Gone Gone Gone along with then rising star Leslie Feist. The New Deal’s farewell run continues at Philadelphia’s TLA on December 28.
