This Friday December 30, Dog Gone Blog will host a post-Phish show at Cake Shop on Manhattan’s Lower East Side featuring Brooklyn afro-jam group Superhuman Happiness. Montreal-based saxophone virtuoso Colin Stetson (Arcade Fire, Tom Waits) has been announced the first confirmed special guest, with more expected to appear at the show itself. In addition, there will be DJ sets from Unicorn Pudding and Dog Gone Blog. Visual projections will be provided via MIDI keytar controller BAMiAMTV. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Superhuman Happiness is led by saxophonist Stuart Bogie, known for his role in the influential Afrobeat group Antibalas, as well as for having joined Phish last year on Halloween for their cover of Little Feat’s Waiting for Columbus. The group recently signed to Marco Benevento’s Royal Potato Family label. Read more about Superhuman Happiness in our On the Verge section over at Relix.com.
