When Bela Fleck and the Flecktones reunited with original piano player Howard Levy last year, the band committed to touring through April, 2012. It now looks like the band’s final show with Levy will take place on April 28. A press release from Fleck’s camp describes the band’s upcoming shows as “the final US tour with the original lineup of the Flecktones.” Bringing things full circle, the Original Flecktones final show will take place at Louisville, KY’s W. L. Lyons Brown Theatre, in the same city where the band played their first show together on The Lonesome Pine Special. It remains to be seen whether the group will tour as a trio, take an extended hiatus or reunite with saxophonist Jeff Coffin, who is now a member of Dave Matthews Band.
