Last night, the members of Van Halen performed for the first time in four years at New York City’s Cafe Wha? With a crowd largely made up of journalists and media personnel, the band reunited to promote their upcoming tour with singer David Lee Roth as well as their first album since 1998, A Different Kind of Truth, which drops on February 7. In the small West Village club, Van Halen ran through classic numbers “Everybody Wants Some!!,” “Dance The Night Away,” “Hot For Teacher,” “Ice Cream Man,” “Panama,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Love” and “Jump,” as well as one of the songs off new album, titled “She’s The Woman.” As Rolling Stone points out, the new song is actually a recycled demo from 1976 that has circulated among fans for years. While the single off the new album, “Tattoo,” was not performed, the song will be released next week on January 10 when the album is made available for pre-order. Tickets for the shows go on sale January 14.
