Levon Helm will miss a series of upcoming Midnight Rambles while he undergoes a medical procedure. A statement from the drummer’s Woodstock, NY-based studio reads, “Levon will be undergoing a medical procedure that will necessitate his absence from the February 11th, 18th and 25th Rambles. We wish him the best and we know he will have a speedy recovery. We’ll continue with the normal Ramble schedule with special guests joining the band. Those guests will be announced shortly.”

Lee Rocker will open the group’s February 11 Ramble while Amy Helm, Martha Scanlan and Byron Isaacs will open on February 18. The Band drummer battled cancer in the late ‘90s but has since recorded two successful studio albums. In recent years, additional health problems have limited his ability to sing during his live performances and regular Rambles.
