The Flaming Lips and Bob Mould will both celebrate Noise Pop’s 20th anniversary by performing one of their classic albums in its entirety at the influential festival. The Lips will perform their 1999 modern classic The Soft Bulletin while Mould—backed by Jon Wurster (drums) and Jason Narducy (bass)—will revisit his former band Sugar’s Copper Blue for the first time. Noise Pop will take place at venues throughout San Francisco from February 21-26. Other recently confirmed acts include: Sleigh Bells, Mac McCaughan (Superchunk/Portastatic), Matthew Dear, The Soft Pack, Class Actress, Thao, Release the Sunbird, The Dodos, John Vanderslice, Two Gallants and Hollerado. These folks will join previously announced bands like Built to Spill, Archers of Loaf, Cursive, Die Antwoord, Grimes, and Christie Front Drive in celebrating Noise Pop’s twenty year legacy.
