Set to ship early next month is the first installment in the Grateful Dead’s Dave’s Picks series. You can now pre-order Dave’s Pick Volume 1, which features the entire recording of the Dead’s performance from May 25, 1977. Culled from the famed Spring ’77 tour, the recordings have been mastered to HDCD specs by Jeffrey Norman, and include a colorful booklet with photos, a historical essay, and come in a digipak made of 100% recycled and PCW materials. All 2012 Dave’s Picks releases will be limited to just 12,000 individually numbered copies via Dead.net. Subscriptions to the entire Dave’s Picks series are also being offered. Be sure to read our interview with Dead archivist Dave Lemieux for more info on the new series.

In addition, the Dead have also announced that Dave’s Picks Volume 2 will feature the complete Grateful Dead performance from the Wall of Sound tour, recorded live on July 31, 1974 at Dillon Stadium in Hartford, CT.
