Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Eddie Vedder have joined the lineup for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. As previously reported, the annual cultural celebration will take place from April 27 – May 6. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will close out the first weekend of the Festival on Sunday, April 29, while Vedder will perform Thursday, May 3. Springsteen’s only other JazzFest appearance was in 2006 with his Seeger Sessions project on the heels of Hurricane Katrina.

“For anyone who was there that April day in 2006, for Bruce’s ministering to the people at the Festival, that performance will forever remain a life-catharsis, when moved by the sheer force of his spirit and artistry, we experienced a rare moment in time when the healing power in music was taken to an ultimate level,” Quint Davis, producer/director of Jazz Fest, said in a statement.

Eddie Vedder performed at JazzFest in 2010 with Pearl Jam. Their set was broadcast directly to the United States military in Iraq.

These acts join a stacked lineup that also includes: The Eagles, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters, The Beach Boys, Zac Brown Band, Trombone Shorty, John Mayer, The Neville Brothers, Al Green, Herbie Hancock, Ne-Yo, My Morning Jacket, Bon Iver, Allen Toussaint, Feist and many others.
