Patrick Watson will release his new album, Adventures In Your Own Backyard, in April via Domino and Secret City Records. The album has two release dates, April 16 in Canada, continental Europe and Japan, and April 30 for the rest of the world.
According to Watson, the album is an effort on the band’s part to “make the kind of music we would want to listen to at home.” That is likely due to the fact that Watson the album was recorded almost entirely in Watson’s apartment in Montreal.
Watson and his band will appear at South By Southwest in Austin, TX in March, along with a variety of dates across Europe in April, and support dates with Andrew Bird in the US in May. Ahead of the official release, you can stream the first single and watch the video “Into Giants,” which features guitar work from fellow Montreal-based musician Brad Barr (The Slip, The Barr Brothers, Surprise Me Mr. Davis).
