The Big Wu Announces 20th Anniversary Tour

The Big Wu will celebrate their 20th year in existence with a pair of performances on Friday, February 10 at Cabooze Music Club in Minneapolis, MN and Saturday, February 11 at the Upstairs Rueb in Northfield, MN. The lineup will consist of the same four core members—Terry VanDeWalker (drums), Chris Castino (guitar), Al Oikari (keys), Andrew “Padre” Miller (bass)—with the addition of Mark Joseph, who is replacing Jason Fladager on guitar. According to a statement from Andrew “Padre” Miller:

“Our 20th Anniversary shows will have two full sets packed with songs from our entire career. Something old, something you never heard us perform. Just like the way it has always been and will always be.”

No Jason Fladager = No Big Wu

@Frank: yep. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, he’ll play at the Mpls anniversary show. It’d be a sad event if he didn’t.

totally agree, Jason rips and is required for a true Wu show

Big Wu should come out to the East Coast.

Fladager is playing tonight. However, Castino is a better lead guitar player in my opinion. On the contrary and in agreement, they were never able to replicate or replace his sound and the combination of the two guitar sound they had together. Their music is a huge part of my life and their music will always hold a place in my heart. Thank you Big Wu! “The Greatest Band in all the Land” – House of Wu

Flad played with them for a bit in the first and some of the second set. I think with the addition of Mark, the Wu is back to that 5 piece magic the family needs! @Steve Berg, I agree…Flad was always the compliment to Castino’s lead. Even though Castino’s playing can be a bit choppier, I always felt he brought more.
