On February 17, Little Feat co-founder and keyboardist Bill Payne will team up with Steel Toed Slippers for a special evening of music at The Mint in Los Angeles. Featuring classic Little Feat tunes, Steel Toed Slippers originals and covers of Hendrix, The Band and The Meters, the show will mark the first time Payne and the Steel Toed Slippers have performed together live. Steel Toed Slippers’ Matt Moss (drums) grew up watching and listening to the late Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward. At age six, he joined Little Feat on stage when Hayward picked him up and sat him on the drum stool to jam on the classic Meters tune, “Just Kissed My Baby.” Since then, Moss has joined Little Feat many times over the years during sound checks and in the studio.

Steel Toed Slippers recently completed their latest CD, which is co-produced by Little Feat bassist Kenny Gradney and Johnny Lee and is expected to be released in March.
