A few days after confirming a residency at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Academy of Music, Dr. John has fleshed out his plans for his “Dr. John: Insides Out” run. The first weekend of the residency, March 29-31, will find Dr. John and an unspecified mix of collaborators performing “A Louis Armstrong Tribute,” while the second weekend of the run, April 5-7, will feature Dr. John and Black Keys’ guitarist Dan Auerbach performing songs from their new studio collaboration Locked Down (due out on April 3). The last weekend of the run, April 12-14, “Funky But It’s Nu Awlins,” will boast a funk-heavy night of New Orleans music featuring key players from the Crescent City including The Blind Boys of Alabama.
