Futurebirds with John Bell, Patterson Hood and other Athens musicians

Futurebirds have confirmed a series of Mountain Region dates as part of their appropriately dubbed Black Diamond Tour. The run will kick off with a two-night stand at Denver, CO’s Larimer Lounge from February 17-18 and will include stops throughout Colorado, Montana and Wyoming (with a focus on ski towns). Earlier this week the young Athens, GA-based group backed
Patterson Hood for a performance on the rooftop patio at Wuxtry Records. The musicians ran through Hood’s new
anti-Walmart song, “After It’s Gone.” Hood recently recorded a version of the song with members of R.E.M., Widespread Panic, Futurebirds and others in an effort to stop a Walmart from moving into downtown Athens.
