Communion is an artist-led organization that combines elements of live promotion, publishing, recording and production to create a hub for songwriters and musicians to develop. The organization was formed in London in 2006 by Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), Kevin Jones (Cherbourg) and producer Ian Grimble (Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Beautiful South) in the basement bar of Notting Hill Arts Club. The organization held support several notable acts, including Michael Kiwanuka, Anna Calvi, The Vaccines and Ben Howard.

Last year, Communion helped curate their first US tour and this winter and spring the organization will lead the “The Austin to Boston Tour.” The collaborative, “unique adventure” will kick off in Austin, TX during SXSW and cross the country before coming to a close in Boston, MA on March 31. Ben Howard, The Staves, Nathaniel Rateliff and Bear’s Den will perform each night while filmmakers Marcus Haney will capture the run on film.
