NedFest Will Continue Following the Death of Michigan Mike
The annual Colorado gathering NedFest will continue following the death of founder Michigan Mike. The longtime Colorado promoter and musical icon passed away late last year leaving some doubt about the festival’s future. But, earlier today, NedFest’s promoters have confirmed that the festival will return to Nederland, Co from August 25-26, 2012. NedFest will once again have a camping option in Chipeta Park, pending Nederland town approval.
A non-profit organization named Peak to Peak Music Education Association (PPMEA) has also been formed in Michigan Mike’s honor. All proceeds from PPMEA will either be used to propagate the festival or be donated to organizations along the Peak to Peak corridor to enhance and increase both instructional and experimental music education among children. The festival’s preliminary line-up will be released in the coming weeks.
