Akron/Family percussionist Dana Buoy will release his debut solo album, Summer Bodies, this coming May via Lefse Records. The album itself emerged from a series of love notes left on an answering machine in Oregon, which Buoy later crafted into songs in a bungalow near a jungle lagoon in Thailand. Employing the use of only a laptop and an MPC1000 sampler, the songs took shape representing the tropical atmosphere in which they were born.

Following those sessions, Buoy returned to Brooklyn to finish off the album, where he recorded the majority of the songs with no outside help. The album combines elements of Afro beat, synth pop, and what Buoy refers to as “Tropicore”. Check out the first single off the album “Call To Be.”
