Obama introduces fellow Chicago heroes Wilco

President Barack Obama has published his official 2012 Campaign Playlist. Obama’s musical tastes are eclectic, ranging from soul to classic rock, hip-hop, indie and pop. He even had The Dead play one of his inauguration parties. The President’s Campaign Playlist includes a number of acts we cover on Relix.com and Jambands.com, including Booker T. & The MG’s (“Green Onions – Single/LP Version”), Wilco (“I Got You”), Arcade Fire (“We Used to Wait”), Zac Brown Band (“Keep Me In Mind”), Aretha Franklin (“The Weight”), Ray LaMontagne (“You Are The Best Thing”) and Bruce Springsteen (“We Take Care Of Our Own”). The Impressions—who are currently recording with the Dap-King family—also made the cut. The playlist is available now on Spotify.

Propaganda Alert!

This list must have been crafted by campaign strategists – seems like every demographic would, so coincidentally, have something to enjoy here. Does anyone really think that Obama gets down to the Speedwagon? (Well, maybe “Riding the Storm Out” – that song’s about the recession, you know.)
