Drummer Allen Aucoin joined his Disco Biscuits bandmates Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner onstage a few times last late week. Aucoin’s solo project Dr. Fameus opened for Magner and Brownstein’s Conspirator band at Ft. Collins, CO’s The Aggie on Thursday night, and Aucoin sat in with the group for “Orch Theme.” Then, on Friday night, Dr. Fameus supported Conspirator at Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre and Aucoin emerged for a take on the Disco Biscuits classic “Digital Buddha.”
After a family emergency forced touring Conspirator drummer KJ Sawka to miss Saturday’s show at Denver, CO’s The Bluebird, Aucoin joined Conspirator on drums for their entire show. In addition to a number of Conspirator songs, the evening’s set included a segue of Disco Biscuits songs with “Caterpillar” running into “Orch Theme” and “Portal to an Empty Head.” The show also included a choice “Boomshanker” and a “Commercial Amen” with “Liquid Handcuffs” with “Tom Sawyer” teases.
Conspirator’s Blizzard of Beats tour will continue at Milwaukee, WI’s Turner Hall this Wednesday.
