Phil Lesh & Friends Webcast from Terrapin Crossroads

Phil Lesh & Friends offered a special Valentine’s Day webcast last night. The one-set performance took place at Lesh’s new San Rafael, CA venue Terrapin Crossroads and featured the Phil & Friends lineup of Lesh, Jackie Greene, John Scofield, Warren Haynes, Joe Russo and Jeff Chimenti. Though all six musicians have been part of past Phil Lesh & Friends lineups, this was the first time this specific version of the band publicly performed. It was also the first public show at Terrapin Crossroads since the Lesh family took over the space (a former seafood restaurant where Furthur played a few semi-private rehearsals). During their set, Phil Lesh & Friends debuted two classic rock covers: Derek & the Dominos’ “Layla,” which was led by Haynes, and The Who’s “Magic Bus,” a showcase for Greene. The same Phil Lesh & Friends configurations will perform in Broomfield, CO from February 16-18.

Here’s a look at last night’s setlist via our Box Scores section

They were KILLIN it last night! Phil on fire as usual. Is he really turning 72 next month? Wish I could go to CO. If you’re planning to check out future webcasts (and you should), leave plenty of time for registration. their website forms are new and very buggy, it’ll take you a while to get in.

Your my hero Phil. If the phat was still alive, there would be tears in his eyes at how the seed of Grateful Deadom have blossomed into this new entity of rejuvenated energy that will furthur the evolution of the scene into the new thing that will save the planet from the furrowed brows of haters and musical fascists…

Love you phil, but please fire Warren already. He’s a fake duane, not a fake jerry. never will be. I will not be attending any of the P&F shows where he’s on the bill.

DK February 16, 2012, 13:11:14

Hey rich, Warren is not a fake anything, and you are a REAL douche.

mmcalum February 16, 2012, 15:07:04

As Far as Warren being a fake Duane, you are out of your mind. First of all Derek plays 90% of the Duane parts in the Allmans. If You asked Phil to fire Warren he would probably tell you to F off. I have been seeing Warrem since 89, in an assortment of bands. Go to a Xmas jam, and then call him a fake. The only instrument you probably play is the skin flute. Do us a favor, don’t go to the show and bring a negative vibe, when someone other than your hating attitiude. F off.

I won’t go to these shows based on ticket prices. $150/$300? Are you serious? And then one set? What a shame that Phil sold out. When is the Mitt Romney fundraiser scheduled?

Rich your f’d. your not a head and obviously not a music lover or play music. your f’d. your like all the other wooks on tour in 09 selling shirts that say “warren who?” jerry loves warren. just not you.

Warren Haynes is the most talented performer I have ever seen – and I have seen thousands of shows. Rich, please stay as far away from anything WH does so that there is more room for me. I hear Nickleback will be going on tour – let me guess, you’ll be first in line?

Those are crazy high ticket prices, esp. if it’s not a benefit. but “half-hearted playing”? clearly you didn’t see the show!
