Counting Crows and Diamond Rugs Will Share the Stage at SXSW

Counting Crows will preview material from their new album Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) during a SXSW performance. The group will headline a free BMI showcase at Austin, TX’s Auditorium Shores on Friday, March 16. Both Diamond Rugs—a new super group featuring members of Deer Tick, Los Lobos, Dead Confederate and others—and Tender Mercies will open. Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) features a range of covers, including material by Big Star, Gram Parsons, The Faces and Dawes. Diamond Rugs/Deer Tick member John McCauley also performs with Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith in the group Middle Brother.
