Patterson Hood, Van Dyke Parks, Randall Bramblett, Teitur and Caroline Aiken performed at Athens, GA’s UGA Performing Arts Center. The evening was recorded for the Mountain Stage program and the performance will air in April. During Hood’s set, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills sang on Hood’s new original song “After It’s Gone.” The two Athens-based musicians recently recorded the song with a host of area musicians to prevent a WalMart store from moving into Downtown Athens. The studio recording of the song also features members of Widespread Panic, Futurebirds and others.
