Mark Karan Welcomes Friends at Sweetwater, Announces Next Residency Dates

RatDog guitarist Mark Karan continued his “Wednesday Night Live” residency at Bob Weir’s recently reopened Sweetwater Music Hall this past week. Joining Karan for the sold-out show were a group of the Bay Area’s finest, including Pete Sears, Hutch Hutchinson, Mike Finnigan, The Mother Hips’ Greg Loiacano, ALO’s Steve Adams, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz and Dave Brogan along with Peter Canton and Paul Olguin. Throughout the evening, Karan and friends performed a series of covers by Dylan, the Dead and The Band along with several tunes featured on the guitarist’s 2009 album Walk Through the Fire.

Karan has announced two additional dates for his Sweetwater residency, which will take place on March 14 and March 28.

It is worth mentioning that Mark makes it a point to have these shows at the Sweetwater (and others as well) recorded and uploaded to livemusicarchive (an arm of archive.org) for the listening pleasure of those who attended and those who couldn’t make it (both recent shows sold out before the day of the show). Any who wonder what they sounded like can listen to both shows. The recordings are accurate.
