As previous reported, on Friday night San Francisco, CA’s Brick & Mortar hosted a Google Music Indie Artist Meet-Up event. According to promotional materials, the show was slated to feature The Tea Leaves, a project consisting of Tea Leaf Green’s Trevor Garrod (keys, vocals), Scott Rager (drums), Reed Mathis (bass, vocals) and Cochrane McMillan (drums). But as many suspected, Tea Leaf Green guitarist Josh Clark ended up showing up and the band’s complete lineup turned in a stealth Tea Leaf Green set. Tea Leaf Green ran through an extended set of songs, inviting out local guitarist Sean Leahy for “Truck Stop Sally” as well as Newfangled Wasteland mainstay Chris Haugen for their encore. The group played in a stripped down configuration during the show and eventually unplugged for a few acoustic songs at the end of the gig. Next up for Tea Leaf Green is an appearance at SXSW later this month.
