Drive-By Truckers’ Patterson Hood will play two shows with his father in April. In addition to being Patterson’s father, David Hood is a noted bass player, producer and Muscle Shoals, AL session musician whose credits include work with the Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, The Staples Singers and many others. Until a few years ago, he rarely performed live with his son. The Hoods will perform together as part of the Mystic Rumblers, an outfit that also features Brad Morgan, Jay Gonzalez and Jacob Morris. The ensemble will perform at Huntsvile, AL’s Crossroads on April 27 while the second is slated for Oxford, MS’ Double Decker Festival on April 28. Patterson will also play a solo show at Summerville, GA’s Finster Festival on May 5.
