Superfly Presents have officially announced The Great GoogaMooga. As GrubStreet leaked last week, the long-rumored food, drink and music festival will take place at Brooklyn, NY’s Prospect Park on May 19th and 20th, 2012.

In total, GoogaMooga will host approximately 75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 live music performances. General Admission at GoogaMooga is free but attendees must register to obtain a ticket to the event. There will also be a limited amount of tickets to a paid-for, all-inclusive experience: “Extra Mooga.” Ticketing for both General Admission and Extra Mooga will open on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 12pm EST at www.googamooga.com.

Extra Mooga will take place in a special wooded section of the park, including the Boathouse, which overlooks the Lullwater and Lake. Guests will have prime viewing of the main stage concerts as well as access to exclusive performances, seminars, demos and theme parties such as “Marcus Samuelsson’s 1920’s Harlem Renaissance Party.”

While the festival’s exact lineup has not been confirmed, the festival has announced that Extra Mooga ticket holders will have access to performances by culinary luminary Anthony Bourdain, comedian Aziz Ansari and James Murphy (who will offer a DJ set). Additional acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The festivals’ culinary offerings will feature collaborations with a number of chefs and restaurant owners, including Anthony Bourdain (Chef, Author and Host of No Reservations and The Layover), David Rockwell (Founder and CEO of the Rockwell Group), Allan Benton (Owner and Curer-in-Chief of Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams), Marcus Samuelsson (Chef and Owner of Red Rooster), Eddie Huang (Chef and Owner of BaoHaus), Paul Grieco (Sommelier and Co-owner of Terrior, Terrior TriBeCa, and Hearth), Garrett Oliver (Brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewery) and Darin & Greg Bresnitz (the Brooklyn food and music connoisseurs known as Finger on the Pulse).

GoogaMooga will also bring a variety of New York restaurants to Prospect Park, including: Tom Colicchio’s Colicchio & Sons, April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman’s The Spotted Pig, Roberta’s, Christina Tosi’s Momofuku Milk Bar, Daniel Boulud’s DBGB Kitchen & Bar, M.Wells, Do or Dine, Frankies 457 Spuntino, Russ & Daughters and the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.

“We have two ongoing conversations in the office, which bands to see and what restaurants to try. Aside from our personal passion for food and music, we’ve seen how the two bring people together in a way unlike any other. We’re grateful for the opportunity to host GoogaMooga in such a beautiful location and to highlight the city’s incredible culture while doing so,” Superfly Co-Founder, Jonathan Mayers said in a statement.

GoogaMooga will have eight different food and drink pavilions with designs and menus according to select themes. They include:

The Hamageddon, which sets the deliciousness of a pig against a rock and roll inspired design, featuring bacon selections by Allan Benton

The UrBarn, with farm-to-fork restaurants and a number of seminars on nutrition, sustainability, and eating locally. Seminars will be hosted in collaboration with non-profits likeJust Food.

The Beer & Wine Experiences, showcasing 35 craft brewers and 30 winemakers (both domestic and international) as selected by Garrett Oliver, Paul Grieco, and Peter Eastlake respectively. These experiences will take place under tents with designs inspired by Munich’s Oktoberfest and Napa’s Wine Country.
