The sixth Jam In The Dam Music Fest kicked off yesterday at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, ND. Following sets by moe. and Dark Star Orchestra, Mike Gordon and his band took the stage for a single set performance that featured a slew of covers including the debut of Jim Croce’s “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim,” off the singer/songwriter’s 1972 album by the same name. Gordon and his band also performed covers of Little Feat’s “Sailin’ Shoes,” Max Creek’s “Emotional Railroad,” War’s “River Niger” and The Band’s version of Marvin Gaye’s “Don’t Do It.” Mike Gordon kicks off today’s Jam In The Dam performance series this afternoon and will close out the event tomorrow evening.
