Marco Benevento has confirmed a some late night JazzFest shows. On Thursday May 3, Benevento, Johnny Vidacovich, George Porter Jr. and Skerik will partner for a jam session at The Maple Leaf. The following night, May 4, the same venue will host a an extremely late night tribute to New Orleans rhythm and blues piano player James Booker featuring Benenvento, Vidacovich and James Singleton. Then on May 5, Benenvento, Eric Krasno, George Porter Jr. and Johnny Vidacovich will join together for The A.M. Sessions. That midnight show will take place at the House of Blues—Parish

In related news, Benevento’s new recording “This Is How It Goes” will be available as a limited edition 7-inch at indie record stores around the world for Record Store Day 2012 on April 21. The song features guest singer Kalmia Traver (Rubblebucket), marking the first time the keyboardist has released a song with vocals. Benevento’s next solo album is slated for release this fall. He will play a solo piano set before Bernie Worrell Orchestra with special guest Rob Shwimmer at New York’s LPR tomorrow.
