Last night’s setlist via Grahame Lesh’s Twitter

Last night, Phil Lesh officially opened his new San Rafael, CA venue and restaurant Terrapin Crossroads. The Grateful Dead bassist performed with a mix of past collaborators, including his sons Grahame and Brian Lesh, Black Crowes frontman and onetime Phil & Friends member Chris Robinson, Phil & Friends guitarist/singer Jackie Greene, RatDog/Furthur keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, Widespread Panic/Phil & Friends guitarist Jimmy Herring and Furthur/Duo drummer Joe Russo (both Russo and Chimenti also played in the most recent version of Phil & Friends). During the ensemble’s second set, Bob Weir joined in the celebration.

As an appropriate nod to the venue’s name, the musicians took the stage to a pre-recorded version of “Lady With a Fan,” the first section of “Terrapin Station.” After the song’s epic “inspiration” line, the band plugged in and finished the song live. The band nodded to St. Patrick’s Day as well, with a run from the Irish jigs “Whiskey in the Jar” into “Seven Drunken Fools.” Weir took the stage during “St. Stephen” and remained onstage
for the entire second set, as well as the lone encore of “One More Saturday Night.”

On Friday night, the same group of musicians—including Weir—worked out the evening’s songs during a rehearsal at Terrapin Crossroads. The band’s two rehearsal segments started at 4 and 8 PM, with a short dinner break thrown in as well. Though the evening was an informal rehearsal—with the group starting and stopping songs throughout the afternoon and night—a few fans who had experienced ticket problems for other Terrapin Crossroads shows were invited to watch.

Lesh will return to Terrapin Crossroads this evening.
