Onetime Shins guitarist and Fruit Bats frontman Eric D. Johnson sat in with Guster at Portland, OR’s Aladdin Theatre last week. The Portland resident emerged near the end of Guster’s set for an energetic cover of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Carolina.” Guster is in the midst of their first fully acoustic tour. The short unique run features a mix of re-arranged acoustic songs, rarities, comedy and a Q & A. After plugging in for an electric show at Ludlow, VT’s festEVOL on March 25, Guster’s acoustic tour will continue at Albany, NY’s The Egg Center on March 28. Yellowbirds will open the night.
