Last year, ambient soundscape artists Blues Control recorded an album, titled FRKWYS Vol. 8, with Brian Eno collaborator Laraaji—best known for his 1980 album Ambient 3: Day of Radiance. Tonight, Blues Control & Laraaji will perform the album’s music first time in a live setting over two sets at Brooklyn, NY’s Roulette. Listen to a track off the FRKWYS Vol. 8 below.

The group has also shared two additional dates exclusively with us, which will take place at Philadelphia’s PhilaMOCA on June 22 and Brooklyn, NY’s 285 Kent on June 23.

In addition, Blues Control will release a new album, titled Valley Tangents, on June 19 via Drag City. After relocating from Queens, NY to the woodlands of Coopersburg, PA, the group members recorded the new album in their homes away from the distractions of city life. The result is a more homegrown, natural sounding album, with the their signature “Debussy via Guaraldi qua Bley qua Hornsby pianisms,” and “a full spectrum of rock colors.” See below for the full tracklisting.
